About the Process
Oftentimes I wake up in the middle of the night with a song in my head. I start writing down the lyrics while I can still hear it. Sometimes I never make it back to bed. I just keep creating.
How I want the song to feel
As the words come together, I start to get a sense of the emotional arc. How do I want it to feel in the first few seconds? Where should it build? What do I want someone to feel when the chorus opens up, or when the song is over? I think about those questions as I shape the lyrics and the sound.
Working with AI
I use Suno to turn those ideas into recordings I can listen to. I describe what I’m hearing and how I want the song to move, then listen to different versions. Sometimes the rhythm feels right but the chorus needs more room. Sometimes an unexpected detail makes the whole song click. I keep listening and refining until the recording feels close to what I heard or felt when I started.
